Mission and Leadership Team, Crisis Response, USA
What?
The Mission and Leadership Team offers you an opportunity to learn about life on mission as you serve with our missionary partners and build intentional disciplemaking relationships with high school students encouraging them in missional living and training them in Gospel fluency. The MLT will have a hands-on opportunity to use their gifts and skills to contribute to the ministry they serve and to gain personal experience and confidence in vocational ministry. This is a 5-7 week long mission interacting with youth groups over the summer as well as time in training, equipping, and serving direct with our missionary partners.
Why?
We have asked former staff members how they were impacted by their summer with Apex. They mentioned the mentorship received by the Apex staff, the opportunity to work alongside the ministries they were assigned, and the joy they had working with the youth they encountered throughout the summer. They valued the relationships that were developed, and the conversations that were held which were motivated by the Gospel. Additionally, relationships are a key catalyst that God often uses to call students back to a city and a team.
Who?
High school graduate at least 17 years and older.
How?
The Mission and Leadership Team will get to know and build relationships with our missionary and ministry partners. In this opportunity, you will be partnering with ReachGlobal Crisis Response at their sites across the US. ReachGlobal Crisis Response exists to develop, empower, and release the Body of Christ to share His love in times of crisis. They partner with a local church in an area impacted by a crisis which provides connection points between local believers and those they are serving. They commit to the long-term recovery because it opens opportunities for spiritual conversations as people ask, “Why are you still here long after the news cameras have left?” Their desire in the wake of a crisis is to both proclaim and portray the love of Christ by coming alongside the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those suffering. By serving with Crisis Response, you also will learn how to proclaim and portray the love of Christ in the context of crisis. You will get to serve along side these full time missionaries and learn and experience their gospel mission and play a role in advancing it forward. As youth groups and volunteer teams come you will play a mentoring role in their lives as they look to you for examples of growing faithfulness and mission lifestyle. You will be equipped to model, mentor and train students in the Apex tools for disciplemaking growth and missional living training. You will have the opportunity to help lead prayer walks, host meals, work on jobsites, and discover where your gifts fit within ministry. .
Where?
United States:
- Due to the nature of responding to crisis, the sites for Summer 2023 are still being determined. Right now, ReachGlobal Crisis Response is currently serving in:
- Lake Charles, LA
- South West Florida
- Morehead City, NC
- Paradise, CA
- Hazard, KY
While these are the sites they are currently serving at, there is no guarantee that all these sites will be available for teams and MLT opportunities until a little bit closer to the summer. We ask that you remain flexible while understanding that adaptability and flexibility are important in a response to a crisis. We invite you to take a step of faith that God will place you at the site where He has a perfect plan for you to serve.
Once your application is approved we will work with you to find the best mission and location fit for your interests, schedule, and Apex Missions and Crisis Response needs.
Participation Cost?
Apex Missions covers all of your onsite necessities including food, lodging, and ministry needs. You only need to raise funds to cover orientation and travel expenses.
Stipend?
There is an optional opportunity to raise $300 per week that you serve alongside youth groups and teams during the summer. A stipend will be granted only if the support raising qualifications are met. (i.e. $300 x 5 weeks of leading groups = $1500).
Internships?
We would love to talk to you about what your internship requires and see if we can make it happen!
Registration Payments and Deadlines:
$75 application fee due when your application is submitted.
We will credit this fee toward your account when you are accepted and return it to you if you are not accepted.
An additional payment of $200 due April 15th, 2023. Full mission cost is due May 31st, 2023.
