Crisis Response, USA

Trip Overview

Journey with Crisis Response

As a Crisis Response team, we enter any crisis ready to help and serve others in the name of Christ. Our goal is to multiply transformational churches; and we do this by partnering with local EFCA churches and help them reach their communities after a crisis occurs in their community. When natural disasters happen, people have real tangible needs, we seek to meet their tangible needs and with the goal of helping them understand their need for Christ. We are a disciple making ministry and we use construction in the wake of a crisis as a means to show how Christ can rebuild their lives.

Apex students are fully integrated into our staff and serve at two of our Texas sites. It is our goal to move you around to various sites to get a broader and fuller experience and understanding of Crisis Response's ministry. You will come alongside our staff in: tangibly building homes, spending time with the volunteers who come in each week to serve, invest in home owners, pray for the people of the community. Our main focus in building relationships with others, a common saying around our team is “people over projects”, so whenever the opportunity is presented we want to invest in the home owners and the people in the community. You will learn skills that are helpful for ministry including; hosting teams, construction, prayer walks and interacting with a community.

Unique to this summer, Apex students will have the opportunity to help the Crisis Response team serve at the Challenge youth conference in Kansas City for a week of their summer. You will join our team as we set up, run and tear down the Apex Experience, an event for Challenge conference participants to see and experience the importance of church planting missions.

Although we do construction work, we also have many other areas for students to help serve in; we welcome students with various skill sets and backgrounds who are looking to experience ministry. We want you to see how you can make ministry happen through any of your passions and interests. For example, to make ministry happen we can work with those interested in evangelism, finances, cooking, administration, counseling, programming, event coordinating, scheduling, recruiting, networking, and raising funds for the projects.
